Cookie Monster 1st Birthday Party ? Celebrations at Home

Lauren of Being the Borguez?s sent in this ?sweet? cookies & milk party that has ?Celebrations At Home-style? written all over it. She brought in the Cookie Monster theme for her one-year-old?s birthday celebration and kept the party small and family oriented.

The things that speak to me are the fact that it?s intimate (it is for a 1-year-old after all), and there are lots of homemade goodies with POPS of designer goods. The color scheme is modern, mixing brown & turquiose, and there are some stand-out details like the chocolate rimmed milk bottles and the ?monster? footprints leading up to the table.

Some of the other great features of the party are:

  • Since this was a family party, each guest brought their favorite homemade cookie recipe. Not only does that add to the charm of the event, it helps keep costs down for the hostess.
  • Character parties can get over-done and dare I say, ?tacky?, but Lauren kept it classy with just the right amount of Cookie Monster imagery.
  • Favors for both adults and children?were available: cookie mix in a jar, and boxes to fill with extra cookies.
